Now I cannot complete my roundup without talking about the lovely Phoebe English. This South-London based designer always brings us tailoring with an element of deconstruction, and allows us to focus on fit and movement. The neutral colour palette with pops of brights really gave this collection a ‘seasonless’ tag which supports the brands ethos of standing out from ‘fast fashion’ – and I love it because saving the planet is something I’m extremely passionate about.
My favourite look from the presentation was the violet drape jacket, layered with the panel dress (middle image pictured below) which is a nod to Paganism or witches (are we catching a theme here with this season…) and I love the fact that English has really taken her environmental responsibilities so seriously that she is using locally waxed cottons as one of the primary fabrics for the collection.
We also saw some lovely bomber jackets and coats made from Welsh wool flannel again locally sourced.
English is really leading the way in environmentally conscious designing, and we love it here at Boyfriend!
