OFF THE RUNWAY! PAM HOGG SS20

Pam Hogg is OFF THE RUNWAY! Check out the imagery and show review here…

As with every season, Pam Hogg’s show was an escape from the high brow catwalk and a venture into a world of humorous theatrics.

Entitling this seasons runway as ‘Best in Show’, Hogg created a world around the theme of dog shows. I saw the designer at a festival a few weeks ago where she was interviewed. She described her background of coming from fine art and not the traditional fashion route as being the key to her alternative aesthetic. It’s this ability to think outside of the box that makes her collections constantly stand out from the rest.

A huge chunk of this collection was based around a vibrant print. Cloud of colour merged with paisley, ribbons and prim and proper poodles who would definitely win ‘Best in Show.’ This print appeared in many different silhouettes ranging from blazer to jumpsuit, and clearly showed the beauty, of experimentation. Ribbons and large headpieces also took main-stage, although they could have been overshadowed by one model leading another down the runway on a lead! It was like stepping into a whole different world, incomparable to anything else you’re likely to see within the fashion industry.

This was Hoggs personal take on fashion. I think she sees clothes as the canvas in which anything can be painted. This has made her loved by many, but also looked down upon by many simply because she doesn’t follow the normal practices of the industry. ‘Pam’s Poodle Parlour’ is open for business and it doesn’t look like it will be closing anytime soon….
