WHY WE COLLECT INFORMATION / WHAT INFORMATION IS COLLECTED

We do not collect more information than we need to fulfil our stated purposes and will not retain it for longer than is necessary. We may collect your email address, where you have communicated with us via email, website registration, subscribe to our newsletter, through business events, press days, trade shows or where you have provided this information to use for general legitimate business interest. We will also collect your email address, address and telephone number to fulfil orders for goods you purchase in order to deliver the goods and charge according to location, including downloadable resources.

For employment purposes, we will need limited data about personal identifiers, education, employment and financial details. All of the information you provide during the process will only be used for the purpose of progressing your application, or to fulfil legal or regulatory requirements if necessary. If we require sensitive personal data then we will ensure that the collection and use is in strict accordance with the GDPR principles of data protection and data privacy.

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

In order to fulfil services through our website, we work with third party service suppliers including WordPress, Stripe, Issuu, MagCloud, PayPal, MailChimp, Sumo, HubSpot, MH Themes & Jetpack and all these companies are committed to being compliant with GDPR.  Our website collects data in order to fulfil orders including name, address, email, phone number and payment information, this data is then processed through our third party service suppliers.

When someone visits our website www.boyfriend-mag.com, we use third party service suppliers WordPress Analytics and Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website. If we do want to collect personally identifiable information through our website, we will make it very clear by asking you to subscribe to our mailing list.

HOW WE STORE AND PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION

All personal data collected by Boyfriend Magazine is stored on our secure system on Dropbox Business, which is committed to being compliant with GDPR and is also complaint with the most widely accepted standards and regulations around the world.

We have appropriate security measures in place in our physical offices to protect against loss, misuse or alteration of information that we have collected from you at our site.

Boyfriend Magazine uses a third party service WordPress to help maintain the security and performance of the RION Magazine website. The site is managed on WordPress and hosted and stored on Bluehost servers who are committed to being complaint with GDPR. To deliver this service it processes the IP addresses of visitors to the Boyfriend Magazine website.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION AND WHO WE SHARE IT WITH

If you supply us with your email address, you may receive periodic contact from us via email with information on services, press releases, events and relevant news. We only share your data with the Boyfriend Magazine team and our service providers for legitimate business interest and use. We do not share any data with third parties outside of our organisation and service providers. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. If you wish to be removed from our systems, please email us at aaron.mark@boyfriend-mag.com or use the unsubscribe button on the bottom of all our communications.

HOW LONG WE WILL HOLD YOUR DATA

We will only hold your data as long as necessary for legitimate business purposes and we will review the personal data we hold every 24 months, and delete anything we no longer need, or is no longer relevant. Information that does not need to be accessed regularly, but which still needs to be retained, will be safely archive.

If you are unsuccessful at any stage of the process, the information you have provided until that point will be retained for 6 months from the closure of the campaign.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
