HISTORY IS MADE AS THE ASICS LONDON 10K RETURNS AS THE LARGEST CLOSED ROAD RUNNING EVENT SINCE LOCKDOWN BEGAN

We’ve all been patiently waiting for restrictions to lift for a large variety of reasons, some just want to see their friends and family altogether, others want to return to the dancefloors, whilst runners have been itching to show off their newly acquired skills since running solo during lockdown. Well we’re happy to announce that the wait is now almost over.

With the governments announcement that most of our restrictions will lift on Monday 19th July, we can relax in knowing that we can go back to running alongside our fellow runners once again.

Limelight Sports Club will be kicking off the British running season with the ASICS London 10K next Sunday 25th July in and around Westminster, and it’s set to make history as being the largest closed road running event since lockdown began last March 2020 with 14,000 runners set to take part. Whilst the event is taking place after the lockdown restrictions have been lifted, the race will still be COVID secure to ensure the safety of all its participants and staff.

More than the race itself, runners will also get the opportunity to partake in a global study into the effect of movement on mental wellbeing and the power of running to uplift London through the ASICS Mind Uplifter™ Tool.

I myself will be participating in the race alongside a few other representatives from the mag, and we’re thoroughly looking forward to it, so we hope to see you there either running alongside us, or cheering us on from the sidelines.
