Last year, after a social media frenzy started by founder and mentor Charli XCX, the foursome Nasty Cherry made their unconventional debut. Singer Gabi Bechtel, guitarist Chloe Chaidez, bassist Georgia Somary and drummer Debbie Knox-Hewson are now back with their latest single ‘Shoulda Known Better’.
The track is accompanied by an official video [BELOW] which was animated by fellow musician and multi-disciplinary artist Du Blonde. The track was written by the band alongside production duo Noise Club and explores the bands fusion between pop and rock, whilst delivering us a message of making dumb decisions despite knowing better (I think we are all a little guilty of that!)
“we wrote it in LA a couple of months ago, at a time we all felt we were falling for the same shit over and over. The vibe of ‘Shoulda Known Better’ is the angel and devil on your shoulder, simultaneously shout-singing at you, and you’re kind of enjoying it.”Nasty Cherry on writing the track ‘Shoulda Known Better’
You can also find out more about the band on Netflix with their series ‘I’m With The Band: Nasty Cherry’, an unfiltered, intimate, 6-part docuseries following the highs and lows of forming and breaking a thoroughly modern band. The band has already made waves being featured by the likes of NME, Rolling Stone, The FADER, TIME, Vogue and many more, and their debut EP ‘Season 1’ which came out last November has seen them sell out headline shows across the UK and US.
