‘Post Human Era’ was the title of C2H4’s SS20 collection, and I certainly felt like I had been transported to a place I wasn’t familiar with.
The show itself was extremely well thought out, with large video screens at the end of the runway showing specially created videos looking like they were fresh out of a space-themed video game (we’ve included some of the videos below for you because they really were cool!). The garments also reflected this – sometimes literally – with the use of colour changing reflective fabrics and sports inspired panelling, the whole collection was like it had just stepped off the set of a new ‘Alien’ film.
We saw some great references in here, their take on a formal shirt and tie was extremely successful in raising my brow, but overall the show didn’t provide much more innovation from its previous season. Other than perhaps the gilet and the newly acquired reflective fabrics, this felt like quintessential CH24, and whilst that isn’t a bad thing because it means they’ve established a strong brand image, I was hoping for something that surprised me.
