Mark Fast is OFF THE RUNWAY! Check out the imagery and show review here…

‘It’s a jungle out there’ is exactly the quote I would use to sum up Mark Fast’s latest SS20 collection which kicked off London Fashion Week yesterday morning at The Strand.

The show space was new and exciting, with a big focus on lighting, and it gave Fast all the ingredients he needed for an electric show, luckily he didn’t disappoint.

The bold and bright collection seemed to feature every colour of the rainbow including jewel greens and amazon blues, and had a pivotal reference to the 1990’s which is something we can entirely get behind. Snakeskin prints in different shades and hues, paired with mesh tank tops and feathered ruffles all took centre stage, but had a few contemporary takes on 90’s looks with his brilliant heartline inspired knitwear (which we absolutely have to buy like right now!) and the structured jackets and shirting, bringing it into a more urban luxe space. It’s also worth noting that Fast’s runway of models was entirely all inclusive which is still something we still don’t see often enough. Also, the hair and make-up was absolutely stunning and something I know Jo our Beauty Editor was feverishly snapping pics and making notes on.

The collection was inspired by the jungle and the beauty of the animal and plant kingdoms there, initially driven from Fast reading National Geographic, and we can entirely see the inspiration in his collection from the get go. If I was being constructive, I think the show was about 5-10 looks too long and could have had an edit, and whilst it wasn’t a collection that I believe is going to revolutionise the fashion landscape, it was certainly a highlight of my day, and a collection that I can’t wait to shoot and play with, and I still really want those knitwear pieces in my own wardrobe…

Here are the latest photos straight off the runway from Mark Fast SS20, at London Fashion Week.
Stay tuned for Issue 7 out September 26th for our editors full LFW review, but until then, enjoy the imagery…
